Dragonfly

I found these stamps at Joanns for 1/2 off. What a deal. $5. Love it when i can find a buy like that. They had such a great sale going on yesterday, I spent way too much but got so much fun stuff.

I made this card and i must say I am loving the dragonfly and how it turned out. I heat embossed the whole dragonfly square so it would shimmer a little bit.

I cute through the lace to add the ribbon and used the buttons to accent. All by the way i purchased at Joanns on sale. Hmmm i might have to go there more often. Not where i usually shop.

The Pink Stamper Color challenge #2

I had fun making this card. It kind of appears as a collage to me. It is different than most cards i have made. I made this card for my DH's mother. Who by the way is going to come and stay with us for 10 days while her daughter is off traveling. I hope she likes it here. But that means i have to get my bedroom cleaned up spotless for her to stay in.

Enjoy!!

Crochetting and Scrapbooking

I kept seeing so many cute cards with croched edges on them so i thought to myself, I can crochet, I can scrapbook, why not do it my self and make up some edges. So i did.

Here is my first attempt. I think it turned out kind of cute.

Celebrate

Just another scrappin day. As you can see i love this ribbon. Wish i had more but this was just a piece i had laying around that came off of something else. I guess i should try to find some to buy.
Waiting for the sun to warm things up a bit. It is only 36 degrees here. I hope the garden makes it.

The Pink Staper Color challenge #1

So i like the way the card turned out but i really need to work on my picture taking skills because this pictures looks to bright in spots and doesn't show the true color of all the shades i used. The angle looks funky too. I will have to work on that one and try to get better at it. I do like the way the emobossed sunflower turned out. As you know sunflowers are my favorite.

So Much Fun

I tried to take a picture of a perfect snowflake. But they melted so fast that it was hard to get one. This is as close as i got. Kind of neat seeing the little star to the left. I should have thought of this earlier in the season when there was always snow and colder weather. There is always next winter.

I saw a card that was embroidered so i thought i would give it a try and this is how mine turned out. Kind of cute but a lot of work for one card. Learned something new for my cards. That's whats important.

Fresh carrots in the spring. Whats up with that? Doyle and i were going to dig our garden today and found these yummy carrots left over from last year so we cooked them up and oh boy were they delish! I thought the one on the right was pretty funny because it looked like a hand so i had to take a picture of it.

Cheli and i made Rudy the rectangle but we named them Ilene and Pop Tart.

Pop Tart is on the left and Ilene on the right. Harley liked Ilene, she pulled her eye off. So now Ilene is wounded. We have another project comming up that is going to be cute. stay tuned to more crocheted projects as we find them and find the time to do them.

Picasa fun

So i was playing with picasa and was trying to put my watermark on my cards like i see on all the other blogs i like to visit. When i post this card i will see if it works. It is already moving the card as i type down instead of typing around it like i thought it would so i guess i will just post my scrapbooking card i made and see how it looks in my blog. Have a great day, I am off to watch lost. One of our favorite shows.
It looks like i should have made the card bigger because you can hardly see the watermark down in the left hand corner. Next one will be better. Oh look, now that i have typed more, it is starting to type around the pictures. I like that. See i am learning something new everyday. I love it.

Too many pictues, Too much fun!

I had over 900 pictures of our trip. Way too many to post. I was looking at Shay's blog and got the idea of a collage. Still too many pictures to show. I guess if you want to see all of them you will have to look at them on picasa. We had so much fun. I really did love Jamie's story telling. When she got nervous, she couldn't stop. The scariest part turned out to be so fun and is a blast to look back on. Especially the video of Toni about ready to pee her pants she was laughing so hard, but really scared. Loved it all. I loved the lighthouses, the bridges, oh so many bridges. The redwoods, the seals, the whales, and of course the ocean. And i loved San Francisco.

Vacation on the West Coast

I wanted to show just a few pictures of my week long vacation up the West Coast. It was beautiful. I love all the light houses and we even climbed the stairs of the yaquina Head lighthouse. It was amazing. We had so much fun and i hated to see it end. This was my favorite light house. Cape Meres. It had the most beautiful surroundings.Cape Meres

Cape Meres

Beautiful ocean scenery all along the way.

Bridges.
More Bridges.
More Bridges.

And, more Bridges. Everywhere we went there were bridges.
The Sea Lion caves.

The most photographed lighthouse. Yaquina Head.
More lighthouses.
And more lighthouses.

Same light house with color accent.

Umpqua River lighthouse

More lighthouses.

Cape Blanco lighthouse. This one they had certain areas around the lighthouse marked off that you couldn't cross because they had found an Indian head Skull and figured it was an old Indian burial ground.

Pelican lighthouse that is really just a modern house that someone built to look like a light house.

More light houses. We couldn't get to this one because the tide was high. And there were others we couldn't get to that were older and out of commission out in the ocean.

The beautiful Red Woods. They were huge and so unique.

The Wine fields.

One of my favorite places was fishermans Warf in San Francisco

A lucky shot driving on the Bay Bridge leaving San Francisco. And then we came home through Nevada which if you have ever been there you know all there is is sage brush.

Playing with Buttons and Wire

BUTTONS & WIRE
I love Buttons! My grandma use to cut the buttons off of the shirts and throw them into a big green container with a zipper lid on it. I loved to sort through the buttons finding the biggest one i could and then take it to dad and have him attatch a string to it and make a spinning toy. I was experimenting last night with buttons and wanting to come up with something different. So i just started threading wire in the button and making funky flowers. I like how it turned out. It was fun and i got to remenise about "Grandma's Buttons".

Just experimenting

I tried to copy Dawn McVey's 3 x 3 cards, and this is my version of them. She has such cute ideas.
Paper & Pink ribbon: SU, Buttons: SEI, Brown ribbon:PTI
I was just playing around with some different colors and made this card. I really liked the black backing. It made the colors really stand out. I'm happy the way it turned out.
The paper is from Pocket full of Posies. Buttons are SEI. Ribbon from Michaels.
