Raspberry Suite Color Challenge # 7

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge # 7 by Dawn McVey http://dawnmcvey.typepad.com/ has to be one of my favorite color combinations so far. I love these greens and the pink added in. I can't wait to see what ideas everyone comes up with. I think that is the most fun. Looking at everyone elses creations.
I love these colors. I think all shades of greens no matter the name of them are always my favorite. Another fun card to give away. How fun.

Another clor challenge from http://www.kwernerdesign.com/blog/ I enjoy doing these color challenges because it helps me improve on my card making. Making me combine colors i probably never would.

I had a hard time with these colors.

Trying to match the ones i thought looked the best.

I think it was the blue among it all that threw me off.

Here is what i came up with. Enjoy.

Please leave any suggestions you might have.

Thanks

TODAY

Today we mowed the lawn. and

We watered the lawn

All the flowers are so pretty

And the trees are growing good. I love the willows.
The garden is starting to grow:)

And so are the weeds :(
But after a long hard day of work it feels so good to put away the tools, take off the hat and just relax and enjoy the beauty.

Just babbling

I went over to Cheli's house yesterday and she informed me i needed to put something other than cards on my blog. I guess she is getting bored of them. Her husband told me i needed to get a hobby, i said cards are my hobby.

But really what can i say?

Thats just it, my life is boring, i have nothing to say.

I get up in the morning and should read my scriptures and excercise and eat breakfast and work in the yard and clean my house, but no! i would rather be surfing the blog world for fun and interesting cards and papers and ideas on how to create something new or how to use my cricut or cuttlebug.

I am a home body so i don't dream of traveling to far away places even though i could.

It scares me to fly. I have done it. Didn't like it. Don't care to do it. I probably will again to go see my daughter in SC. But she is so busy with school and family that the timing has to be just right.

I should clean my house but it is so nice outside that who wants to be inside cleaning when they can be outside enjoying all the beauties of nature.

I like to garden. We planted a small garden. It is looking great.

The onions look great.

The carrots are just peaking their heads out of the soil.

The peas are doing great, can't wait for those sweet morsels.

Cucumbers

Squash

Potatoes

zuccini

and we planted radishses with the scouts. I wanted to plant something i knew would grow fast and they could see the fruits of their labors before they moved on to their next level

I will post pictures of them at our party we are having tomrrow.

They are great kids and a lot of fun.

ok, i think i have babbled enough but i don't know how happy Cheli will be with it.

Maybe she will tell me to go back to my card making.Haha.

I'll find a picture to post just for fun.

A blog is boring without a picture.

Love you all

Kwerner Color Challenge # 52

It has been so fun participating in Dawn McVeys color challenges that i thought i would search out another one. Through one of the links on Dawns challenge i found http://www.kwernerdesign.com/blog/ and thought it looked like some fun colors to try.

I had fun experimenting with my sewing ability. I hate sewing but for some reason i find sewing on a card challenging and fun. Strange!

Thanks for visiting. Please leave a comment.

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #6

Dawn McVey is having another color challenge. I love her blog. I check it out all the time to see what cute things she has come up with next. She sure has a talent for putting the right things together. I love looking at all the other designs everyone else has come up with on her color challenges. There are so many great ideas and there never seems to be any two alike.
When i first saw these colors together i didn't like them at all. I had to move them and arrange them and play around with them to get them to a place i liked.
I used distressed ink 'Vintage Photo' to sponge these flowers. I really like how they turned out.
Paper: Berry Sorbet, Dark Chocolate,Aqua Mist from Papertrey Ink

My Heaven

I love flowers. I love spring when all the trees are in bloom and look and smell so beautiful. Here is a peek at all the lovely flowers in my yard. Hope you like them.
Oh! I almost forgot. If you look closely, in the very middle of the collage is the next door neighbors dog peeking through his hole under the fence. He wants to come and play but he can't. He is always peeking out at me. He is so cute.

Our Little Piggy Day

So as some of you know, my daughter and i try to get together once a week and make something, learn a new pattern or try something new. This time we picked pigs. Ok, the pictures were so dang cute and we had such high hopes and we were sure we were going to make enough to give a way right.
Well as the story goes, we had the worst time making these babies. We laughed and cried and threw things across the room (not really) we were so frustrated. Our little piggies just didn't turn out like we had hoped. But we will always have our memories, right!

I think Cheli's piggy is so much cuter than mine, i don't dare show you the pattern because you will see just how bad they really are, well mine anyway. Her piggie is on the right, mine on the left. The tails ar cute!!!!

And here is my little piggie Cheli. She is so sweet and kind and adorable. She is sensitive and giving and loving and we have so much fun together. I love you Cheli.

Raspberry Suite Challenge - Week 5

Dawn McVey is having another color challenge.
Inspiration comes from a pretty picture she took while she was in Hawaii soaking in the sun.

I love her site and all of her creations. She is so talented.

I had made a card the night before, went to bed, thought about the card and decided to add the background flowers and the embossed black at the bottom to make it look more like rocks.
(In my mind anyway)

Just For You & Back ground flowers stamp PTI: Out of the Box
Mother stamp PTI: Tags for spring
Background Basics PTI: Spots & Dots
Habiscus Burst ribbon PTI
Raspberry Fizz paper PTI
Black and pink paper scraps on hand
Crochet flower, button & white ribbon, me.

Here is a second attempt at the colors. It was fun to make the flower. I cut and embossed the butterfly using my cuttlebug.

I'm seeing spots

This was my attempt at spots and dots. I thought i better start small and work my way up to the big time. I used pink ribbon instead of red because i wanted to bring out the little pink centers. I found this huge button in my mom's button jar. Fun stamp set from PTI.

Papertrey Ink challenge

I was loving the card that Heather Nichols made. I love quilts. My grandmother made quilts. I attempted to make one and decided when i was finished it was not the craft i wanted to pursue. But it was a very rewarding experience. My hats off to all of you who love to quilt.

Here is my card.
Inspired by Heather and the pillow next to the quilt on Heathers blog.
I have never sewn on paper before and was so afraid of how it was going to turn out. I am just not a sewer.

Papertrey Ink paper mixed with SU paper.

Papertrey Out of the Box stamp embossed flower.

The Pink Stamper challenge # 10

Well I made it. It only took me 12 hours but i did it. Yeah!!!!!

How fun.

This challenge was to make something with circles. So i put one big yellow circle. Couldn't think of anything else. My creative juices were failing.

The Pink Stamper challenge # 9

Almost there,

Here is my "All Mixed Up!

I used it as a topper to a scrapbook page.

The Pink Stamper challenge # 8

This was a little bit more difficult for me. I couldn't decide what to use.

The Pink Stamper challenge # 7

Here is my card using the Faux chipboard. What a great idea.

The Pink Stamper challenge # 6

This one was a bit easier for me. Maybe i will catch up.

The Pink Stamper challenge # 5

This is the first time i have ever made anything according to a sketch. I think i like it. Gives you good ideas where to put your embelishments.

The Pink Stamper Challenge # 4

I'm falling behinder and behinder the faster i go.

Here is my mothers day card. I love the pink and green together.

The Pink Stamper challenge # 3

Ok, here is my kids page which i'm glad was a challenge because i have so many pictures i need to do but don't do, so this is a good start.

Here is Kylie with grandpa. She loves her grandpa.

The Pink Stamper challenge #2

So i bought the Wild Card cartridge and took one look at the book and thought it was too complicated and put it away. So for Robyn's challenge i thought now is a good time to try it. So i pulled it out and thought i will try one thing.

I made this card with scrap paper i had laying around because i was sure i would totally mess up but it turned out ok. I needed a birthday card and this one will work just fine.

The Pink Stamper color challenge 1

I used a very dark brown and lime green for this challenge. The brown looks like a dark green when i added the green on top. Strange. All the paper and letters are from a punch out pack.
I embossed using my cuttle bug. The brads are from SEI.
